Purpose of the course:
To enable community leaders, caregivers and counsellors to do trauma support within a caring environment, assessing victims towards recovery and healing.
Minimum Admission Requirements:
The general public, but particularly focusing on community leaders, caregivers and counsellors.

Three days of contact time

COURSE CONTENT:

Module 1: Understand and describe trauma in general terms, and the impact of trauma on the lives of individual people and the community.

Module 2: Identify, understand and describe typical trauma situations within our communities.

Module 3: Understand and describe the difference between trauma support and trauma counselling.

Module 4: Understand the impact that exposure to trauma is likely to have on caregivers, and how to deal with that impact.
