Purpose of the course:
Because most practitioners of pastoral and narrative counselling have never had the occasion to enter a supervision programme through which they might improve their conversational expertise; this training opportunity provides a rare opportunity for such professionals and professionals from the broader landscape of helping practitioners to participate in a certified course, by leading them down a path toward greater effectiveness in their calling as counsellors and helping practitioners. Even though any person from the helping professions can enrol (these include social work and psychology practitioners, and organisational and ministry leaders), the programme is facilitated from a pastoral and narrative perspective.
Minimum Admission Requirements:
Pastoral therapists needing SAQA Level 7 supervision (option 1)
Pastoral therapists needing SAQA Level 9 supervision (option 2)
Structure and duration of course:
Option 1: 10 mentor/supervision conversations and frequent professional peer contact. Complete in one year but can be extended to two years.
Option 2: 15 mentor/supervision conversations and frequent professional peer contact. Complete in 18 months but can be extended to three years.
